Columbine
One of the most tragic things to have happened in the history of our nation and really opened a lot of eyes, was the Columbine. The Columbine is the story of two kids who were reported to have been bullied opened fire in their school. They went through about 900 rounds and had automatic weapons. In Michael Moore’s story he covered the town and the areas around Michigan to show America the easy gun access it gives us. He went around to prove the ridiculousness of everything that went down there. He got a new bank account and in return got a gun. He even states how getting the gun from a vault that is in a bank probably isn’t the smartest thing ever. Then he goes around to your everyday average stores to buy ammunition. One of the most surprisingly places he bought some ammunition was at the local barber shop, when he was getting a haircut just asked for the rounds, and then the rounds he got. He proved that getting a gun and ammunition was too easy for anyone to get, and that’s why it was so easy for the two kids that got it and killed 12 of their classmates and a teacher. No one saw it coming and there was also no way to really prevent the kids from doing it because of the easy access gun laws. The two kids ended up taking their own lives that day as well making the total of 15 people who died that day. The tragic ending to a day where everything started off well as could be, like an average day. The whole story just shows that guns need to be harder to get and should only be given to the right people who fit some criteria. Another reason why the U.S has the most deaths, far more than any other country. Americans take advantage of the easily being able to obtain a gun, and use it to kill others. This is wrong and can be changed so that people can feel safer living in America and to reduce the numbers of deaths drastically. Change, however, is defiantly needed.
